Ritual Magic
Any magic caster can perform a series of rituals without affecting any of their spells per day as they take a great deal of time and often times have minimal benefit to the group. The origin of the magic can affect the ritual. Detailed below are these types rituals.
Ceremony
A ceremony or sermon, depending on what it is called in the area, is a service provided by anyone who can cast divine spells. These services offer a small benefit depending on which service it is. Some of them can only be performed once in a lifetime, while others can be performed as many times as is needed.
Casting Time: 1 hour
Range: Touch
Components: 25 gp for materials associated with the ritual, such as a thurible, incense, and so on.
You perform one of several religious ceremonies. When you cast the spell, choose one of the following ceremonies, the target of which must be within 10 feet of you throughout the casting.
Atonement: You touch one willing creature who has sinned or failed in their principles. This spell will provide insight and comfort to them, allowing them to more easily get over their guilt
Bless Water: You touch one vessel of water and cause it to become holy water.
Coming of Age: You touch one humanoid who is a young adult. For the next 24 hours, whenever the target rolls a skill check they can re-roll any failed result.
Dedication: You touch one humanoid who wishes to be dedicated to your god’s service. For the next 24 hours, whenever the target has to make a saving throw, they can re-roll a failed result. This can only be used once.
Funeral Rite: You touch one corpse, the corpse can not be used to create or will not become undead.
Service: You give a recitation of religious dogmas, stories, or other topics your deity. This service gives a +1 morale bonus on will saves for 8 hours.
Wedding: You touch adult humanoids willing to be bonded together in marriage. For the next 7 days, each target gains a +2 sacred bonus to AC while they are within 30 ft. of each other. A creature can benefit from this rite again only if their spouse dies.
Benediction
This is a ritual type magic that is performed by any number of priests required to complete it. They will perform a complex prayer service that functions to remove cursed objects from an afflicted creature. These can vary in expense depending on how many priests are required to perform the ritual. All caster levels are determined by the lowest level priest in the group
Casting Time: 2 hours
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 fr per CL)
Components: Each priest needs to use 250 gp worth of components during the ritual.
Once the ritual is complete the priests will be able to separate the cursed object from the subject and ends any ill effects from the cursed item.
Waygate
A nature magic user can perform the waygate ritual to establish a point of return. This ritual has two parts to it. The Mark and the Recall. This must be performed in a circle of stones that lay within a well-kept garden or a grove of trees.
Mark
This is where the ritual will be performed and where the recall will bring the user's back to.
Casting Time: 4 hours
Range: The immediate area within the components.
Focus: A circle of at least 8 stones that are arranged within a natural grove or a well-kept garden. These stones must all be carved with a mark unique to the location. These must cost 50 gp each. It is not possible to substitute these foci with any other focus.
Recall
Upon completion the caster and any willing creature within 30 ft. of the caster will be teleported back to the mark location.
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: Any range so long as the mark is on the same reflection.
Components: A stone that is carved with the same markings used to make the mark half of the ritual. Worth at least 50 gp. This cannot be substituted with a sufficiently expensive focus.
