Investigate
A quick check (1 minute) allows a character to examine a specific object or small area (such as a door, chest, or section of a room) to attempt to detect traps or irregularities. This check is limited in scope and may miss well-hidden or complex features.
A thorough investigation (30 minutes) allows the group to examine an entire room in detail. During this time, all characters present may participate. This means each character can get their own roll against the DC set by the DM. If they succeed they will find more carefully hidden or less obvious things. e.g. Hidden chests, hidden doors, artifacts, and anything of a similar scope.
A thorough investigation can be done as fast or rushed, which takes 10 minutes or 1 minute respectively. This will significantly increase the DC set by the DM.
